Nieman's Tree Farm is a third-generation nursery. Tom's grandmother came to America from Germany in 1880 with 2 suitcases. One contained her clothing, the other contained the seeds and plants that would eventually become the original plantings at the family nursery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, Tom operates the Lexington plantation with his son Johnathan. Their nursery is unique in that they sucessfully grow and sell Fraser Fir; which do not normally thrive in Kentucky. Their farm currently offers the following varieties: white pine, blue spruce, Norway spruce, Douglas Fir, and Fraser Fir. Other landscaping trees are also available.
Driving directions: from Man O'War Blvd., go east on Todds Road. Cross over I-75 and continue for 1.5 miles to Sulphur Lane. Turn right into the nursery.
